The Council of Ministers in its regular sittings on Friday applauded Defence Minister’s briefing on civil population protection from gunfire in the city and beyond.
Government spokesperson Michael Makuei Lueth told journalists that Kuol Manyang Juuk presented a brief report on plans to improve security and protection of civilians from sporadic gunshots.
He declined to discuss the Defence strategies for military confidentiality, but stressed that civilians would be protected from gunshots.
Mr Makuei added that peace talks between the Government and SPLM/A in opposition would begin in March 20 promptly as scheduled by IGAD.
The spokesperson said the cabinet also applauded Housing Minister Catherine Juan Benaiah’s report on a trip to Europe.
He declined to reveal details, saying it was still subject to discussion by a cabinet cluster before making it public.
