Yei Catholic Diocese on Saturday launched its second five-year strategic plan.
Bishop Erkulano Lodu Tombe during the launch explained that the plan has three parts: The first part looks at the current situation, the second talks of the vision and mission of the diocese while part three contains pastoral and social services, administration and personnel, Easter Radio reported.
He added that part four is related to policies and guidelines that help diocesan personnel to implement the strategic plan.
Bishop Lodu said the basic organizational structures of 1998 strategic plan consisted of pastoral services, social and institutional development pillars.
He said it was nearly impossible to implement the many recommendations put forward due to difficulties of civil war.
Bishop Lodu Tombe affirmed that the recommendations of the pastoral services pillar were fully carried out.
Yei Catholic Diocesan five-year strategic plan vision is ‘We are the family of God in Christ rooted in the word of God and inspired by the Holy Spirit’.
The mission plan is ‘We are committed to evangelization as a loving service to unity, reconciliation, justice and peace in our journey together towards the fulfilment of the reign of God’.
