European Union Ambassador to South Sudan urged the government to build a democratic nation with prosperous society that observes the rule of law.
Ian Hughes said the government needed to build a safe prosperous democratic country that creates a room for dialogue between the grassroots and the central government, Bakhita Radio reported.
He said democracy means the top leaders dialogue with local people.
Ambassador Hughes said in a democratic nation the local people put their priority before the government for implementation.
He said education, health and other important issues were left behind in South Sudan.
The diplomat said though the UK was dedicating efforts to strengthen education, still a lot is needed.
Ambassador Hughes said EU was doing its best to strengthen some institutions in South Sudan.
The British ambassador made the remarks on Thursday at Bakhita Radio Wake Up Juba morning show.
