Catholic Archbishop of Juba on Thursday said the church is still interested in the quest for peace in the country.
Archbishop Paolino Lukudu Loro called on South Sudanese at all levels to be courageous in working for peace, Bakhita Radio reported.
He said the church is praying for the peace mediators and delegations to realize stability in the country.
Archbishop Lukudu said the mid December conflict seriously affected St Thomas Mangalla parish displacing its priests.
He expressed happiness that people started returning to their homes, but needed supports to feel secured.
The metropolitan Archbishop of South Sudan said the Archdiocese of Juba is paying for the Catholic Diocese of Malakal in its difficulties.
He encouraged the people of Malakal to be strong in faith as God stands on their side.
Archbishop Lukudu called on the government to take care of the people of God in Malakal diocese.
He made the remarks after a consultative meeting with church representatives on the peace talks in Addis Ababa to find the Catholic Church views.
