UN Women Executive Director said women called for an end to rape and violation of women and girls’ rights to enhance protection.
Phumzile Mlambo Ngcuka condemned the conflicting parties of involving child soldiers.
The Director urged the parties to release those already active in the army to their parents.
She said perpetrators of such crimes must be brought to book.
The Executive Director called for increase of food as IDPs were facing hunger in the camps.
She said IDPs expressed concerned about their health conditions which would cause water born diseases.
Ms MLambo said one of the main objectives of UN Women was to guarantee a full participation of women on the political talks in Addis Ababa.
She explained that during the peace talks, UN Women reach both the government and the opposition forces to lobby for the implementation of the UN 1325 Resolution.
The Executive Director said UN Women want to see South Sudan women participation in the implementation of the process, monitoring, other modalities and nation building.
Ms MLambo paid a two-day visit to the country to see the impact of the conflict on women and how to address their conditions.
