Sudan People’s Liberation Movement women on Saturday strongly condemned the alleged coup attempt led by the former Vice President Riek Machar Teny.

A Political Bureau member Jemma Nunu Kumba said the crisis took the country back to the situation before the Comprehensive Peace Agreement or CPA.

Ms Nunu said if there was difference within the party, there was no reason of killing innocent women and infants.

She said women were saddened and strongly condemned the rapes and subsequent killing of cleric women in Bor, Jonglei State.

Ms Nunu made the remarks during SPLM Youth League mobilization campaign at Freedom Hall in Juba.
