Women commit to work for peace, reconciliation

South Sudanese Women Leaders for Peace on Friday expressed commitment to work for peace, healing and reconciliation.
 
Chairperson Agnes Kwaje Lasuba said they commit to develop peace songs to inculcate the culture of peace, love and nationalism to all South Sudanese.
 
She said women affirmed all cultural and traditional practice in the country.
 
Ms Lasuba said women strongly rejected oppression, endangering, humiliation of women and children in times of conflicts.
 
The women leader renounced tribalism, ethnicity and divisions among South Sudanese.
 
The Chairperson was reading women statement after a two-day workshop that started on Wednesday on peace initiatives under the theme: ‘Give peace a chance’.
