Churches call for reforms to address conflict

South Sudan Council of Churches’ delegates to Addis Ababa peace talks between Government and SPLM/A in opposition in a statement on Monday called for reforms in governance, organized forces and the Constitution.
 
The statement signed by eight bishops also demanded reforms in education system, accountability, resource allocation and management in the country.
 
The council recommended truth, reconciliation and healing processes to be carried out in South Sudan.
 
The statement supports inclusive dialogue to seek honest views from all sectors of society for citizens to own the process and expected agreement.
 
The council believes that addressing pertinent issues of governance and democratic institutions in political parties, organized forces and constitution would bring permanent peaceful settlement of conflicts in the country.
