The President of the Republic on Monday donated two hundred and fifty thousand South Sudanese Pounds to South Sudan Network of People Living with HIV AIDS for supporting orphans in the nation.
South Sudan AIDS Commission Chairperson Esterina Novello handed over the cheque to the Network chairman Lole Laila.
She said the Commission would monitor the use of the money in schools to ensure that orphans benefit from the money.
Ms Novello said proper use of the money President Salva Kiir donated would open ways for more support.
SPLA Association of People Living with HIV chairman John Edward Bagari appreciated the government’s concerned with victims, saying there was no shortage of antiretroviral drugs.
He said the government ordered SPLA top Command not to transfer HIV positive soldiers to places without HIV treatment.
The officials made their statement during a handover of the money to provide scholastic materials for orphans with HIV in schools.
