Bakhita Radio celebrates eight years on air

Bakhita Radio staff expressed their happiness while celebrating eight years anniversary of broadcast since it first went on air on December 24 2006.
 
Station Production Manager Emmanuel Tombe said he was very excited to see that Bakhita Radio marks eight years of operation.
 
He said the Radio started with nine staff but now it employed over 30 staff.
 
Mr Tombe said in the beginning, Bakhita Radio coverage was limited to Juba town now it is going beyond outskirts of Central Equatoria.
 
He appreciated staff spirit of team work.
 
Bakhita Program Manager Josephine Achiro who worked for six years said since she joined the Radio, she developed deep love for the station that enabled her to deliver services to the people.
 
She said the Radio made tremendous changes to lives of many people.
 
Ms Achiro explained that the first program was Peace Journey, followed by Referendum Journey and now Nation Building.
 
Bakhita Radio listener Francis George said the station changed lifestyle of many people and the society at large.
 
He encouraged the staff to continued doing their best by keeping citizens informed of what is happening in the country.
 
Bakhita Radio vision is to reconcile South Sudan societies to live in peace, unity and justice.
 
The celebration coincided with the feast of St Josephine Bakhita.
