Eastern Equatoria decentralizes ‘Go-to-school’ campaign

Eastern Equatorial Education Minister decentralized ‘Go-to ‚Äìschool’ campaign to the eight counties of the state.
 
Michael Lopuke Lotyam told Emmanuel Radio that United Nations Children’s agency or UNICEF gave the state money for the ‘Go-to-school’ campaign.
 
He said they distributed the money to all counties: nine thousand South Sudanese Pounds each for implementing the programme.
 
The minister said the campaign aimed to create awareness on the importance of education and request parents to take their children to school.
 
He added that they also want to inform parents of their important role in the education of their children.
 
Minister Lopuke Lotyam said the ministry and all stakeholders are embarking on the ‘Go-to-school’ campaign for a week.
 
The minister said the campaign also seeks to find solutions to children with difficulties in order to retain them at schools.
