Women were mourning their children killed in conflicts across the country.

South Sudan Council of Churches Women Program Coordinator Agnes Wasuk Sarafino said women were in great pain over the continuous killing of children.

She said the ongoing innocent bloodshed reminded women of their labour, pain and delivery without reward.

Ms Wasuk appealed to the warring parties not to take the country to square one, warning that SPLM conflict should not generate civil war.

She described the fighting as shameful because the same party that struggled for freedom was again destroying its achievement.

The Coordinator said women feel very bad about their sons’ political and military mess up.

Grace Christian Church General Overseer William Lodu asked God to speak to President Salva Kiir to think of his people.

He urged the President to go an extra mile to realize total peace in South Sudan.

The Overseer also prayed for the rebelling group to understand and listen to God to change the situation to better.

The leaders made the statements in a sideline interview during a meeting of South Sudan Council of Churches on Friday in Juba.
