Equatoria states leaders postponed their extraordinary conference scheduled for January 5 in Torit, Eastern Equatoria.

Eastern Equatoria state government spokesperson Clement Loku Chichim told the press that some members of the region were busy with official duties, Emmanuel Radio reported.

He added that the consultative conference would later be rescheduled.

Mr Loku said Equatorians felt it was important to consult and come up with a communiqué how to help address current political issues in the country.

The minister said Equatoria states leaders’ position was never to allow the region to be used as a war field.

He said Equatoria seeks for peaceful resolutions of the ongoing political crisis in the country.
