Armed conflict to gain power by force was not accepted in the world of today.

This was the comment of Yei Catholic bishop Erkulano Lodu Tombe on the unrest of the country after Brigadier Peter Taab defected with 30 soldiers on Saturday night to join rebels loyal to Riek Machar, Easter Radio reported.

He lamented that it was not expected that after three weeks of unrest in the country soldiers were still defecting from all parts of the country.

The Catholic prelate clarified that political issues should find political resolutions through dialogue.

Bishop urged the army and organized forces to understand that there was no reason to fight the nation.

He said through the grace of God and people’s prayers, any person trying to take power by force would not succeed.

Bishop Lodu appealed to rebellion supporters to abundant war and work for peace in the country.

He insisted that it was political not a communal conflict and no community was targeted.

The prelate revealed that the whole world was asking South Sudan to politically resolve its indifferences through dialogue.
