Tombura-Yambio launches peace songs

Tombura-Yambio Catholic Diocese and Western Equatoria local artists on Wednesday launched peace songs for the state and South Sudan in general.
 
Bishop Eduardo Hiiboro Kussala told the crowd at Yambio Freedom Square that through prayers, peace and unity in Western Equatoria can spread to all parts of South Sudan, Anisa Radio reported.
 
He said the state government and churches were ready to contribute in bringing peace and reconciliation to the country.
 
Big Boss Band Music President Sweet J. who composed new song titled ”Leh tani sot silah” or ‘why again gun sound’, urged both citizens and the government to stop killings.
 
She in her track raised the voice of women who were crying for peace, and Ambassador Koko sang for ceasefire and stoppage of bloodshed.
 
Another female artist Tutu S. Phina sang in Zande Language for unity and peace.
 
State Deputy Governor Sapan Abui thanked the musicians for the great work done that would contribute much to bring peace in South Sudan.
 
He added that Western Equatoria people were mourning their brothers and sisters who died in other states.
 
Representatives from all denominations prayed for politicians, NGOs, Churches, army and citizens in the country.
