Sts Peter and Paul Parish Gidel in Heiban County of Nuba Mountains celebrated the feast of children marking the feast of holy innocent martyrs.
Gidel Parish Priest Francis Angela said the Church was celebrating innocent martyrs’ feast, the day King Herod ordered killing of all children in Bethlehem, Voice of Peace reported.
Fr Francis explained that it was the day King Herod ordered all children to be killed because of the child Jesus who was born as the Saviour of the world.
He said the children feast was named the Holy Innocent because they died innocently.
The Parish priest added that children need the protection of their parents.
Catechist Matta Tutu advised children to be friendly to one another.
