Fertit community in Western Bahr El Ghazal postponed its customary laws amendments scheduled for Saturday because it was in solidarity with violence affected people in other states.
A community Legal Advisor Arkangelo Njovo told Voice of Hope that 27 Fertit tribes expressed interest to unify their customary laws to help tackle cases in local courts.
He said the task to amend customary laws was postponed to allow the community mourn with their brothers and sisters in other states.
The Legal Advisor said the community was expected to amend unwritten existing reference and come up with a comprehensive unified law document.
He said Fertit customary law would take into account the laws of South Sudan, rights of other neighbouring communities in the state and drop bad practices like revenge.
