Wau Catholic Bishop urged the youths to embrace sports for healthy spiritual growth of the diocese.
Bishop Rudolf Deng Majak said there was need for the Church to organize sport activities for youths to live long and healthy spiritual moments, Voice of Hope reported.
The Bishop stressed that the body needs sporting exercise.
Bishop Majak said due to prevalence of diseases in most African countries, there was need for young people to start sporting at their early age before reaching 30 years.
He said most youths in Africa develop back complications at early age due to inadequate sports.
The Bishop made the remarks after Sts Martha and Bakhita teams on Sunday played Christmas cup final match which ended 1-0 in favour of St Martha Parish.
The tournament started two weeks ago where eight parishes in Wau town participated.
