The political crisis that started on December 15 in Juba and spread to other parts of the country displaced 92 thousand people in South Sudan.

UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs or OCHA reported that the real number of people displaced was likely to be significantly higher.

The Office said fighting took place in over 20 locations of five states and 58 thousand people sought shelter in UN peacekeeping bases around the country.

OCHA said a multi-sector response was underway to 20 thousand people displaced in Juba.

It added that food was given to people displaced in Bentiu of Unity State and Awerial County of Lakes State.
