Yei River County Commissioner called on organized forces and the public not to shoot guns during Christmas and New Year celebrations.
Juma David Augustine announced that the move aimed at creating peace and stability, Easter Radio reported.
He told organised forces not to move with guns unless on duty because Christmas celebrations should be peaceful.
Commissioner Juma urged all citizens to reconcile with one another and collectively rebuild the country.
Christians around the globe will commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ on Wednesday.
