US Special Envoy calls for cessation of hostilities

The US Special Envoy to South Sudan and Sudan on Monday called for cessation of hostilities in South Sudan.
 
Donald Booth called on South Sudan’s leaders to stop fighting before the situation worsens and many lives lost in the country, Bakhita Radio reported.
 
He said US government would work together with regional partners to contain the violence to realize peace in South Sudan.
 
Mr Booth said President Salva Kiir gave him green light to meet the detained officials to get their views to reach peaceful resolutions.
 
The Envoy sent condolences to the people affected by the conflict.
