Kumbur Payam Education Supervisor in the Nuba Mountains announced that schools completed their first term exams.

Khalid Karaka Lalu told Voice of Peace on Tuesday that schools began holidays following the end of first term.

He added that schools closed on December 23 and learners will resume on January 3, 2014.

Mr Karaka asked Christians to pray for peace in the Sudan, particularly Nuba Mountains, Blue Nile and Darfur regions.

He wished all citizens of South Kordofan a merry Christmas and a happy New Year.

It is not clear whether Christians in Nuba Mountains will celebrate Christmas as Khartoum regime continues to bomb civilians.
