Yei Deputy Mayor on Sunday warned business people against increasing prices of commodities to gain double profits.
Silvano Ali told the congregation at Christ the King Cathedral in Yei that some businesspeople raised prices claiming that transport from Uganda was costly, Easter Radio reported.
He observed that most business people were selling their goods at high prices because they noted that many people buy clothes and food for Christmas.
He urged the business community to sell their goods at affordable prices to citizens.
Mr Ali clarified that material preparation would not be counted the real preparation for Christmas.
He added that business people should not take Christmas as a high chance to get high profits.
The Deputy Mayor said his administration would ensure that Christians celebrate Christmas peacefully.
