UBG students neutral on Juba crisis

Students of the University of Bahr El-Ghazal expressed neutrality on Juba crisis which they termed ‘against national unity’.
 
Thousands of Students on Thursday met at the University main Campus to analyze objectives behind the alleged coup attempt in Juba, Voice of Hope reported.
 
Jeng Kwanjen, political parties’ student representative, denounced rumours of any tribal build up on Juba crisis in the University of Bahr El-Ghazal.
 
He said Juba alleged coup attempt had no weight on national interest for citizens.
 
Mr Kwanjen said some Nuer students in the University took refuge in the UN compound due to miss information.
 
He noted that since the fighting broke in Juba on Sunday, students from different tribes were calm and friendly.
 
Another students’ representative Akech Philip condemned Juba clash and appealed for calm especially in Juba and Jonglei.
 
He called on state authorities and the university administration to join hands for the smooth running of the academic year.
