Concern for Women and Children, the First Lady’s organization and Plan International on Friday distributed food and non food items to five thousand internally displaced persons or IDPs who took refuge at St Theresa’s Cathedral Kator in Juba.

The displaced people came from Lologo, Kor Wolyang, and around the military Barack.

Concern for Women and Children representative Theresa Atian said they distributed food items including rice, sugar and wheat flour.

She believed the items they distributed was not enough because the population was great.

Ms Atian urged people of goodwill to contribute and assist the displaced people in Kator and other places.

Plan International Coordinator Charles Abe said they would be supplying them with water until they return to their various places.

He said they would also bring playing kids to keep the traumatized children busy.

One of the displaced persons who asked to remain anonymous said they were not returning to their homes because they fear military intimidation and looting.

He urged all politicians to follow democracy to achieve total peace in the country.
