Lakes State Governor on Friday called on citizens to remain calm because the conflict which started in Juba and now spreading to other towns was not tribal.
Matur Chut Dhuol urged all state citizens to remain united as sons and daughters of one nation, Good News Radio reported.
He instructed all the forces to respect all tribes in Rumbek.
Governor Chut warned that any attempt to attack certain tribe would be a crime and his government will not tolerate it.
Former Education Deputy Minister Gabriel Kuc Abyei said the current crisis in Juba was a SPLM problem and not tribal.
He appealed to citizens in Lakes State to refrain from violence and instigating another war.
Rumbek Centre County Commissioner Abraham Mayen Kuc confirmed that there was no violence in Lakes State.
He called upon the people to avoid attacking their fellow brothers and sisters in the country.
The officials spoke after Juba fell into political crisis prompting guns uproar from Sunday night to Monday.
