Tombura-Yambio Catholic Diocese trained extension workers in Yambio of Western Equatoria state to improve crop production.
Diocesan Rural Community Development Program Coordinator Samuel Simon Zigizo said they equipped the extension workers with skills to produce enough cash crops to generate money, Anisa Radio reported.
He said the major challenge facing the local farmers was lack of transport and marketing facilities.
Mr Zigizo added that many farmers were complaining of markets but do not produce good quality of food to attract buyers.
12 extension workers underwent a two-day training at Saint Anne Guest House in Yambio.
