Government assists Thiet Payam flood victims

The Government of South Sudan through the ministry of Humanitarian Affairs sent non food items to the flood victims in Thiet Payam of Tonj South County.
 
Tonj South County Commissioner William Mayom thanked the government of the republic for their generous assistance to the people of Thiet payam, Don Bosco Radio reported.
 
He said the assistance included 300 tends and 44 plastic sheets.
 
Commissioner Mayom urged NGOs dealing with disasters to try their level best to rescue the community of Tonj South County.
 
He asked the Government to send food to Thiet because the floods destroyed crops and people face the threat of hunger.
 
In September and October, Thiet, Manyangok, Mabior Yar, Makuei and Jak payams of Tonj South County were seriously affected by seasonal floods.
