Repeated house fires are worrying residents of Tarawa area in Yei municipality after five houses were reduced to ashes.
Cicilia Sadia told Easter Radio that her house got burnt on Wednesday while she was at the neighbourhood and she lost all her belongings in the fire.
Antasia Adare, who also lost her house to fire, said the fire burned five mattresses, official documents, cooking utensils, clothes, chairs and other items.
The residents wondered who could have set the houses on fire.
They added that three houses got burnt on Wednesday, and another two last week.
Tarawa area chief Regina Jamba expressed unhappiness for the house fires.
She said all the fires started at 3:00 PM.
Mama Regina said she wanted to call a general meeting to find out who is behind the mysterious blazes.
