The President of the Republic issued a republican decree relieving Environment Minister from his position.
Salva Kiir Mayardit dismissed Abdalla Nhial Deng from the Ministry of Environment on Tuesday through a decree read in SSTV.
The President did not give reasons for firing the minister.
Mr Nhial’s dismissal happened two weeks after he slapped Gorgial West County MP Machok Majong Jong in an office at the parliament.
MP Majong on Tuesday proposed a vote of no confidence on Minister Nhial but the House referred the issue to the Assembly Business Committee.
Mr Kiir did not name the new Environment minister.
