Clashes displace 32,000 in South Kordofan

Clashes between army and rebel forces displaced 32,000 people in Rashad and Dilling counties of Nuba Mountains.
 
SPLM-N spokesperson Arnu Ngatulu Lodi told Voice of Peace via e-mail that more than 900 houses and 150 farms were destroyed in air and ground attacks carried out by the Sudanese army last week. 
 
He said people lost their property and were desperately in need of humanitarian assistance.
 
Mr Ngatulu said in Dilling County alone 24 civilians were killed, 26 wounded, 12 kidnapped and 20,000 displaced. 
 
He added that ten civilians were killed in Rashad County, 18 wounded and more than 12,000 were displaced as well.
 
The spokesman also claimed that eight SAF bombs killed three women in Habilla County of Nuba Mountains.
 
Fighting intensified in the Nuba Mountains region of South Kordofan following the onset of the dry season.
