The Ministry of Gender, Child and Social Welfare and the United Nations Mission in South Sudan or UNMISS will launch a national campaign against sexual exploitation and abuse.

The Director General of the Ministry Regina Ossa Lullo and UNMISS Chief of the Conduct and Discipline Nathalie Ndongo-Seh are expected to launch the campaign during a press conference on Tuesday in Juba.

The campaign under the theme: ‘NO to sexual exploitation and abuse, break the silence, mata askut’, will take place between November 27 and December 9 in all ten states.

The campaign will underline the plan of the UN family in South Sudan and the Government to implement sexual exploitation and abuse a zero-tolerance policy.

The campaign aims to raise awareness on sexual exploitation and abuse among all communities and provide adequate tools and sufficient knowledge to identify actions and behaviours to prevent and report sexual exploitation and abuse cases.

The national campaign will take place alongside the annual 16 days of activism against gender-based violence.
