Director General in Western Bahr El Ghazal Physical Infrastructure Ministry dismissed claims over land revenue discrepancies.
The State Assembly on Tuesday summoned the Ministry director following state secretariat’s request on the alleged disappearance of more than 20 million South Sudanese Pounds, Voice of Hope reported.
The Ministry was also accused of allotting free plots to some government officials prompting the assembly to investigate the issue based on the internal audit report.
Romano Ucu director general in the Ministry confessed that the ministry allotted a piece of land to a private company in exchange of six cars.
He said the deal was politically motivated.
Mr Ucu said the procedures used to acquire those cars on land exchange transaction were wrong.
The director who was skeptical on political questions dismissed claims on the free issuing of land to individuals.
He requested the Assembly to form a committee to probe the issue because giving land for free was not at the capacity of a director.
The Assembly at the end of the sitting found no proper documentation on plot allotting in New-site and Zogolona residential areas.
