Investors committed ten million US dollars in agriculture and forestry in Western Bahr El Ghazal State to create a man made forest to develop a market for quality wood products and fruit trees to produce processed fruits for international markets.

State Finance minister Lillian Rizik Valentino broke the news to the press on Monday in Wau after investment forum under the theme: ‘Creation of the right economic environment for investment’, Voice of Hope reported.

She said that the money will create more than 400 jobs in the first five years.

The minister said the government entered into commitment worth 30 million US dollars with investors interested to construct houses for sale and rent in Wau.

Ms Rizik said they found a company interested in forest products and found no investor interested on animal products.

She said the ministry was planning to host another forum to attract investors to invest in other sectors.

The investment forum drew together 150 representatives of eight international companies and 50 local companies.
