Western Bahr El Ghazal farmers and Warrap states pastoralists convened last week a two-day conference to regulate cattle movement between the two states.
Western Bahr El Ghazal Governor Rizik Zachariah Hassan said regulating grazing activities needed cooperation among chiefs of the two states, Voice of Hope reported.
He said the conference established avenues for cattle keepers and farmers to value both cattle and crops.
Warrap Commissioners called on farmers not to kill cattle but follow legal procedures to claim compensation for destroyed crops.
Warrap chiefs told farmers to fence plantations to allow free grazing land.
Sixty chiefs from Warrap and Western Bahr El Ghazal states including County commissioners and ministers gathered in Bussere to highlight ways of how farmers and cattle keepers peacefully co-exist.
