Western Equatoria State Finance Ministry on Thursday started a two-day training workshop on proper accountability of public funds and economic planning for service delivery in Yambio.
State Revenue Authority Director General Wanga Bilal said the workshop aimed at equipping civil servants with knowledge to properly account for public funds, Anisa Radio reported.
He said the workshop targeted senior civil servants from the ten counties, director generals from the various ministries and head of commissions in the state.
Participants’ representative Suzan Fupai said the training was important as it discussed issues concerning accountability for public funds.
Acting State Finance minister Clement Juma Mbugoniwia said public money was not for personal use.
He added that it was also important that the public trusted the government to put good record system in place.
