Floods affected Madhol School students in Tonj South County of Warrap State exams because their school is still surrounded by water.

Tonj South County Education Director Mayom Lual Bak said head teachers resolved that students seriously affected by floods including Madhol Primary School would not be promoted this year, Don Bosco Radio reported.

He said some schools cannot do exams and were seriously affected by floods and pupils were forced out of their residential areas and schools.

Mr Bak urged all head teachers and class masters to collect back text books from the pupils by the end of exams.

He warned that any pupil who lost his or her textbooks will not get them in 2014.

Mr Bak advised parents and guardians to send their girls to school because girls’ enrolment in schools this year was low.
