Western Equatoria ministry of Agriculture launched the third agriculture show under the theme ‘Diversification of agricultural produces as a measure to food productivity.’
Agriculture Director General Marcelo Constantino said the agriculture show is organised every year to allow farmers to display their products, Anisa Radio reported.
He added that Western Equatoria is standing firm to achieve its goal of eradicating hunger in the state by 2015.
State Minister for Agriculture West Yugule said the people of Western Equatoria state were able to eat two meals daily due to farming.
He called upon farmers from the ten counties of Western Equatoria State to start associations to be able to receive assistance from the government and partners.
State Governor Bangasi Joseph Bakosoro urged farmers to plant more cash crops besides food crops to make more money.
The three-day Third Agriculture Show that opened in Yambio on Tuesday brought famers from the ten counties of Western Equatoria.
