A team from Western Equatoria Legislative Assembly on Friday toured secondary schools in the state encouraging students to work hard.

Deputy speaker Hana Lona Bona said the government was concerned with the poor performance in last year’s senior fourth exams in Western Equatoria State, Anisa Radio reported.

She urged all the students to concentrate in their studies and avoid getting into early marriage.

MP Robert Singira, who chairs the education committee in the State Legislative Assembly, encouraged the students to be smart both in mind and body.

State Director General in the Ministry of Education Gibson Francis Waru blamed the students for their poor performance at secondary school leaving exams.

The team visited Yambio Secondary, Yabongo Girl’s Day and Boarding Secondary schools.
