Equatoria States Union of Visually Impaired discussed employment opportunities for persons with disability.

Chairperson Levi Sunday accused lawmakers of never turning up to discuss issues affecting citizens with disabilities, Bakhita Radio reported.

He said he hoped the employment situation of people with disabilities should be resolved during the next three years.

Mr Levi urged for cooperation among citizens saying anyone can be a disabled person at any time.

Deputy Director of State Labour ministry Robert Kitta said there was no discriminatory law of employment for people with disabilities in public service.

Mr Kitta said what mattered was qualifications and knowledge.

MP Scopas Lo-Kabar urged the Ministry of Labour to denounce offensive advertising that discriminates women and people with disabilities.

MP Scopas said disability was not inability.

The discussion was supported by Handicap International.
