The US embassy in Juba expressed interest to support the development of a land policy in the country to aid private investment.

Embassy’s Economic Chief Owen Jimmy Clarke told CRN that the US would consider supporting the development of a surveying department once the National Legislature finalized the Land Policy Framework for the republic.

He added that the US would also support the Investment Conference to be held in Juba on December 4 and 5.

Land, Housing and Physical Infrastructure Minister Catherine Juan Benaiah said a lot of work was still to be done with land demarcation and use for investment as opposed to keeping it disused.

These statements came after a meeting between the Minister of Lands and the US Embassy Deputy Chief of Mission Michael McCarthy on Thursday in Juba.
