Yei Catholic Bishop on Sunday asked citizens to cooperate with the new Municipal authorities.
Erkulano Lodu Tombe said without cooperation, delivery of services would be inadequate and of less importance, Easter Radio reported.
Bishop Lodu said it was an honour that Yei payam was upgraded to a municipality showing growth of the state and the county.
He urged the people not to belittle themselves.
Bishop Lodu said there was need to cooperate to fuel up development because government officials sacrificed themselves to serve the nation.
He appreciated Central Equatoria government for upgrading Yei payam to a municipality.
Yei Municipality Mayoress Oba Cecilia called for togetherness, forgiveness and love among citizens.
She also told the congregation to continue serving the Lord because even the government officials do.
Mayoress Oba appealed for peace to realize change in the municipality.
The two speakers made the remarks on Sunday at Christ the King Cathedral in Yei during the parish conclusion of the Year of Faith.
