Teachers from both primary and secondary schools in Yei municipality on Saturday concluded the training on the use of registrar books for teachers and students.

Yei County Acting Education Director Philip Taban Issa said it was important to train the teachers on the usage of the registrar books because they would clarify the attendance of both teachers and pupils in the school, Easter Radio reported.

Rev Taban detailed that the books will also help the authorities to know the exact number of pupils and teachers to control absenteeism.

He revealed that the governments of South Sudan and United Kingdom wanted to support the schools, especially girls’ education because most parents find it difficult to pay school fees.

Rev Taban said the government of South Sudan encouraged every child to go to school urging the support of citizens.

He added that the training on the use of registrar books was extended to Mugwo and other payams.
