Eastern Equatoria State Parliament on Monday approved with amendments the Policy Statement of the State Ministry of Animal Resources and Fisheries in its third reading.

The approval followed the presentation of findings from the Assembly’s Specialized Committee of Agriculture, Forestry, Livestock and Fisheries, Emmanuel Radio reported.

MP Okumu Robert Aganya in the report formulated a number of recommendations including the need to construct water dams and establish veterinary laboratories.

Legislators also agreed that the ministry should supply anti-rabies vaccines to every boma in the state.

The committee vowed to follow up the ministry of Animal Resources of Fisheries’ performance after every six months to ensure that the recommendations were implemented.
