Teams of officials from the national Ministry of Education are touring states and counties to assess the standards of primary and secondary schools to prepare a plan of action for the sector.

Minister John Gai told the press in Juba that three teams made up of senior officials were dispatched to the states to assess school standards in some counties, Bakhita Radio reported.

He said he will lead the first delegation to Upper Nile, his deputy Bol Makweng will go with the second delegation to Bar el Ghazal and Adviser William Ater heads the third delegation to Equatoria.

Mr Gai said state education ministers will be involved in the inspection.

He explained that the three teams will inspect the standard of the primary and secondary schooling in the country to build ideas before the ministry submits its plan of action in November.

Mr Gai said the inspection is a good occasion for officials to learn what is happening in the primary and secondary education in the whole country.

The teams will need one week to complete their fact finding mission across the country.
