South Sudan AIDS Commission on Thursday conducted an inter-agency meeting in Yambio, Western Equatoria State.
State AIDS Commission Planning officer Peter Daniel Kisira told Anisa Radio that the meeting was to prepare for World AIDS Day commemoration on December 1.
He said the country is sensitizing people on the silent killer disease that affects population growth and development activities.
Mr Kisira lamented that about ten thousand people are living with HIV AIDS in the state and many others died leaving behind many children without parental care.
He said all health partners in collaboration with the state health ministry strongly committed to fight HIV AIDS by preventing new infections in various communities.
This was the second state inter-agency meeting on AIDS in Yambio.
