Yei County Commissioner says constitutional mandate not threatened

Yei River County Commissioner said his constitutional mandate and his powers are not threatened by the upgrading of Yei Town Payam into a municipal council.
 
Juma David Augustine clarified during a live program on Easter Radio that the new Mayoress is only in charge of Yei Municipality.
 
He added that he was in full power of his constitutional mandate as the Commissioner of Yei River County.
 
Commissioner Juma explained that a Municipal Council is a subsection of a general geographical setup which attained specific status in the Interim Constitution.
 
He pointed that Yei Town Payam is considered as a cosmopolitan area because its residents speak difference languages.
 
Commissioner Juma added that the population increase contributed to the upgrading of Yei Town Payam into a municipal council.
 
He revealed that the people of Yei are hard workers and it also contributed to the status of municipal council.
