Twenty members from St. Mary’s parish in Wau took part on a one-day workshop for the formation of a Justice and Peace Committee.
Stephen Robo, Justice and Peace program coordinator, told Voice of Hope that the new members from St. Mary’s parish will be trained on different topics with Justice and Peace Committee members from other parishes.
Mr Robo clarified that the training targets ten groups of five members each from different parishes to get lectures on human rights, Catholic Social Teachings and other topics.
The official added that if the lifestyle of 50 people can be changed, the impact could spread to the entire society.
Mr Robo said the second training program starts next month and ends in July.
The Justice and Peace Commission in Wau Diocese is conducting the training in six parishes.
