Ugandan Muslims in Juba joined their South Sudanese counterparts celebrating Eid Al-Adha on Monday.

Sirage Salim told Bakhita Radio that he was happy to celebrate the day as it was an important festival for the Muslim community.

He commended the government for allowing them to celebrate with a holiday.

Ibbrahim Dafala wished all Muslim communities in Juba a happy celebration.

The government announced that Monday and Tuesday were non-working days for Christians as the Muslims to mark Idd Al Adha.

Eid al-Adha, also called Feast of the Sacrifice, is an important religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide to honour the willingness of Abraham to sacrifice his young first-born Ismail as an act of submission to God’s command.
