An environmental expert articulated concern over very dangerous environmental hazards if random disposal of waste materials is not minimized.

Anthony Julu Michael, who lectures on Health Sciences and Environmental Resources, said it was important to keep the environment clean by collecting garbage and dispose it in one place to avoid pollution, Voice of Hope reported.

He said that if the entire population does not stop random disposal of garbage, the country will soon experience some environmental problems.

The lecturer added that if this happens there will be no room for the coming generation to enjoy good environment.

Dr Julu said that some farmers cut down trees to cultivate crops or for business, terming it risky to the environment.

He advocated for awareness campaigns to teach citizens to better use the environment.

Dr Julu called on all to avoid pollution because it causes health problems.

He urged citizens to stop cutting trees because they attract rain.

Director of Training Gabriel Angelo warned first year students to be serious in their studies because they are visitors that can be discontinued at any time.

The speakers were addressing students of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences at the Catholic University in Wau.
